i read 22 books in 2022 lol!! literally half the amount i read in 2021 but idc. also, this is not including orv, which is multiple book lengths...

could not be assed to do a ranking this year so i came up with a lazy symbol system instead.
↺ = reread. ♡ = ♡. ☆ = wouldn't say i loved it but was impactful in a particular way i feel should be acknowledged. X = disliked.

some stats:

• fantasy: 4 (orv, tlt)
• horror: 4 (my heart is a chainsaw, we had to remove this post, fever dream, our wives under the sea)
• short story collection: 2 (lesser known monsters, bliss montage)
• poetry: 3 (autobiography of red, red doc>, life on mars)

i simply have never been a nonfiction reader btw... kind of an L but it is what it is... really thought i read more short story collections this year but it was only 2?! also, in general i don't really do goals or whatever (narrator voice: We Can Tell.) but this year i would really love to read more poetry collections, which (imo) requires so much more attention and intention than reading fiction.


TELEVISION

2022 was the year of BETTER CALL SAUL. not only did the final season air so i was watching it live with my sis but i also rewatched the whole thing with t and it was just sooo much fun to watch and discuss and agonize over. i also really just love bcs as a whole and the characters are quite dear to me :')

+ shoutouts also to BARRY, which was so insane, and THE BEAR, which i watched alone in a single day and enjoyed in that quiet way.


ANIME

lol u already know. genuinely thank u ONE PIECE for possessing me wholeheartedly once again. and shoutout also to MOB PSYCHO 100, of which i still have the last few episodes to finish but am saving :]


MOVIES

my ass was not watching movies this year...

1. PIG (2021): one of those rare movies that had a personal effect upon, like, my psyche or whatever. like it burrowed its way into my brain and is just there now, i guess, and i'm really really glad for it.
2. NOPE (2022): so good and so fun and so terrifying
3. EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE (2022): so good and so fun and so terrifying to watch with MY PARENTS?! genuinely can't believe that happened like the amount of stress i was under the whole fucking time. it was ok or whatever tho
4. THE LAST UNICORN (1982): guys why was this the saddest movie in the whole world.
5. TENET (2020): lmfaooo i had fun!!

VIDEO GAMES <-- guy who only played 5 games this year

1. PATHOLOGIC 2: thank u for my autumn. i should probably publish the dw draft i wrote up for this. really can't believe i played a freaking horror game who am i.
2. DEATHLOOP: thank u for my summer... no staying power but it was fun while it lasted
3. THE LAST OF US: replayed this with my sister (who was playing it for the first time) the agonies were so fun!! technically it was my first time playing it too because i only played tlou2 for myself and watched a playthrough of tlou. Definitely hits different when you're the one in question mashing buttons on a controller fighting for ur life <3
4. JOURNEY: yes i played this for the first time this year LOL
5. GENSHIN IMPACT: for the grip u still have on me. just suffered thru the requisite games of windtrace to obtain all the primo rewards. one of the games was literally just watching childe (the hunter) sit at a table across from zhongli (a rebel) the whole time like god genshin impact u are so genshin impact. btw u guys the upcoming HOMA/AQUA SIMULACRA weapon banner... all i do is win!!
